He was predeceased by: his parents, James Franklin and Lenabell Ross Cox; and his sister Melba Juannel Howard. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Cox; his children, Jeff Cox (Kylia), Donald Stanaway, Richard Stanaway, Douglas Kinley (Tiffany), Jerry Kinley, William Kinley, Adam Kinley, Dona Cox, Sandy Gass (Shane) and Desteny Cox (Brandon); and his sister June Cox. He is also survived by fifty grandchildren; more than twenty great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Holly Pond Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
