He was predeceased by: his parents, G. N. "Bill" and Arnilla Cook Hanes; his sister Cheryl H.; and his brother-in-law Jim Kanzenbach. He is survived by: his sons, Scott Hanes (Tammy) and Kris Hanes (Beth); his siblings, Frank Hanes (Barbara), Ronnie Hanes (Adele) and Teresa Golden (Joe); and his grandchildren, Miranda Hanes, Tyler Hanes, Kolton Hanes and Kaden Hanes.
