He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Martin and Lou Emma Cole Preiss; his daughter Cheryl Taylor; his granddaughter Kimberly Elizabeth Preiss; and his great grandchild Violet Gil.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Hart Preiss; his children, Larry Preiss Jr. (Susie), Gary Preiss, Jerry Preiss, Janine Howard, Daniel Preiss (Mandy), John Preiss (Theresa) and Angel Eubanks (Ryan); his son-in-law Billy Taylor; his son Rob Sandlin; and his brother Steve Preiss. He is also survived by 31 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren.
