He was predeceased by: his wife Vivian Rowan; his parents, Leon Rowan and Willie Mae Rowan; and his brothers, Winston Rowan and Richard Rowan.

He is survived by: his children, Leon Rowan, III (Helen) and Doug Rowan (Teresa); his grandchildren, Tiffani, Blake, Hunter, Brookelyn, Brayden, Baylee, Michael, Christany, Brody and Briley; and his sisters, Virginia Smith, JoAnn Condray and Mary Sue Simmons. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
