He was predeceased by : his daughter Lori Hughes Costanzo; his parents, Nellie Fowler Hughes and Dewey Horace Hughes; and his brothers, James Hughes, Ted Hughes and Ned Hughes.

He is survived by : his wife Jane Houston Hughes; his children, Gray Hughes (Shelley) and Amy Hughes Fender (Craig); his grandchildren, Caleb Costanzo, Lauren Costanzo Fontanez (Matthew), Christopher Mark Costanzo, Suzanna Costanzo, James Gray Costanzo, Benjamin Costanzo, Caroline Irby (Steven), Austin Hughes (Sarah Reagan), Anna Rebekah Hancock (Kyler), Jacob Fender and Hannah Fender; his great grandchildren, Wilder Hancock and Austin "Gray" Hughes, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Dew, James Gray, Kyler, Steven, Matthew, Wesley Williams and Ben Stevens. He is also survived by many in-laws, wonderful nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the DeArmanville Methodist Church. A funeral service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
