He was predeceased by: his parents, R. E. Barlow and Gussie Barlow. He is survived by: his wife Dot; his children, Danny Monfort and Kimberley Hayes (Bob); his grandchildren, Hannah Franklin, Jessica Monfort, Madison Hayes, Jeffery Monfort and Eddie Monfort; his sister Nancy Cothell; and his sibling's children, Selena Cothell-West and Alex Cothell.
After graduation, Dr. Barlow interned at Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
