He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Summers and Edith Summers; his sisters, Lenora Codding and Virginia McDaniel; his sons, Douglas Paul Summers and Donald Paul Summers (Chip); and his brothers-in-law, Roy Gordon and Reggie McDaniel.
He is survived by: his wife Madeline Joyce Haddock Summers of Dothan, AL; his sister Barbara Gordon of Norton, Ohio; his children, Wilma Linnelle Summers of Chicago, David Paul Summers of Chicago, Timothy Lee Carter of Iowa and Stephen Ray Carter of Bonifay; and his brother-in-law Donald Codding of Medina, Ohio. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
