He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Battles and Gussie Justice Battles; his siblings, Voncile Battles and Charles Melvin Battles; and his great grandchild Carson James Davis.
He is survived by: his brother James Orell Battles of Milton, FL; his wife Shirley Stephens Battles; his children, Danny Battles (Carol) of Dothan, AL, Gary Battles (Laurie), Sherry Davis (Jim) and Lisa Battles; his grandchildren, Daniel Battles (Brittany), Justin Battles of Dothan, Christopher Davis (Candace) of Chelsea, AL, Hillary Singletary (Brett) of Dothan, Matthew and Jonathan Battles of Knowville, TN; and his great grandchildren, Nash Battles and Charlotte Marion Davis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
