He was predeceased by: his parents, James Earnest and Virginia Mae Sweeney Mitchell; and his siblings, June Sisco and James Gary Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Loraine Mundy Mitchell of Dothan, AL; his children, George Rex Mitchell, Jr. (Traci) and Kelley Bodeson (Barbara) of Valpariso, FL; his brother Phillip Mitchell (Jenny) of Mobile, AL; and his grandchildren, Bryana Mitchell of Dothan, AL and Brandi Fuller (Alex).
