He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Pierson Sr. and Essie Lou Pierson (Threat); his siblings, Frances Brinkley, Robert Pierson and Emory Davenport; and his nephew Bernard Brinkley.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara McCray Pierson of Dothan, Alabama; his children, Senica Zmich (Robert) of Atlanta, Reginald Pierson, Chris Pierson and Michael Pierson; his stepsons, Zavier and Zaccheus McCray of Dothan, Alabama; and his sisters, Cathy Pierson of Dothan and Delois Glover (William) of Davenport, IA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
