It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jewel Chapman of Dothan, Alabama, born in Cottonwood, Alabama, who passed away on June 27, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mammie "Watson" Caphart and Aaron Caphart; her daughter Stephanie Chapman; and her siblings, Samuel Damell Caphart, Reverend J. F. Caphart, Lena Mae Caphart, Annie Dean Caphart and Helen "Moore" Caphart.
She is survived by: her husband John Chapman, Jr.; her children, Brenda "Stephens" Chapman and Willie David Chapman; her grandchildren, Jerome Chapman, Sr., Devontruis Chapman, Deja Lashay Green, Alexus Chapman and Mercedes Chapman; her great grandchildren, Jerome Chapman, Jr., Mayla Leigh Chapman and Jalice Armani Cook; her sister Maggie Caphart; and her granddaughter-in-law Charity Brawner.
Jewel had a special friend, for many years, that was very dear to her heart, the late Wilbert Dean Watson; and also a granddaughter-in-law: Charity Brawner, who she loved as her own.
