He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Maggie Mae Gainous; his wife Joyce Bass Gainous; his children, Susan Gainous Hicks (Steven), Pamela Gainous Parris (Danny) and Robert Eugene Gainous Jr. (Patti) of Dothan; his brothers, Floyd Gainous of Wilmington, NC and James Gainous of Orrum, NC; and his grandchildren, Josh Parris, Whitney Parris, Jamison Hicks (Jessica) and Addison Colby Gainous. He was also cherished by four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
