It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Versie Jones of Dothan, Alabama, who passed away on June 13, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sidney Grubbs and Stella Grubbs; her former husband Eddie Turner; her siblings, Robert, James Grubbs and Eva Mae Walker; and her grandson Sean Banks.
She is survived by: her husband Rev. John E. Jones; her daughter Linda Scott (Wilson); her grandchildren, Corey Banks (Derrica) and Nicki Carroll (Willie); her siblings, Rarzell Grubbs, Mabel Coleman (Joel) and Glenda Davis (Willie); her great grandchildren, Jonas Yearby (Brittany), Jori Banks, Jayden, Bryan, Justin, Breyden and Brunden Carroll; and her stepchildren, Lisa Staton (Anthony), Johnathan Jones (Linda), Anisa Jones, Paula Jones and Madelyn Jones-Mugambi (Geoffrey). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
