He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Carpenter and Lucille Carpenter of Dothan Al; his wife Geraldine "Jerry" Charlton; and his siblings, Foy Carpenter, Bobbie Sammarco, Elsie Phillips and Linda Carpenter.
He is survived by: his stepson Dr. Steve Charlton (Pam) of Elberta, AL.; his grandson Dr. Scott Charlton (Ashley) of Enterprise, AL.; his great grandchildren, Molly Kate of Enterprise, Cooper of Enterprise, Mary Harlin of Enterprise and Gibson of Enterprise; his siblings, Elaine Terry (Ted) of Atlanta, Gene Carpenter (Zona) of Columbus and Gary Carpenter (Judy) of Jacksonville, FL; and his sister-in-law Charlotte Carpenter.
