He was predeceased by: his grandson Travis S. Headley; his parents, Emmett Blankenship and Edna Blankenship; and his brother David "Gene" Champion. He is survived by: his children, Heather Champion of Elmore and Charles Champion of Randolph; his siblings, Linda Mercer (Billy) of Elmore, Donald Champion of Elmore and Ronald Champion (Mary) of Elmore; and his sister-in-law Linda Champion of Elmore.
