He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Gibson and Mattie Pearl Gibson; and his brother Edward Gibson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Dykes Gibson of Enterprise, AL; his sons, Tim Gibson (Kim) of Enterprise, AL, Todd Gibson (Kim) of Enterprise, AL and Tom Gibson (Lori) of Wetumpka, AL; his grandchildren, Zack Gibson (Mary Thomas), Hali Quincey (Nick), Leah Calhoun (Nate), TJ Gibson, Garrett Gibson (Kristianna) and Ashley Whatley (John); his great grandchildren, Avery, Zane, Kate Quincey and Everett Calhoun; his siblings, Margaret Strength (Louis) of Enterprise, AL, Syble Strength of Enterprise, AL, Elaine Clark (Dykes) of Opp, AL, Teresa Deal (Gary) of Enterprise, AL, Jerry Gibson (Betty) of Enterprise, AL and Danny Gibson (Debra) of Enterprise, AL; and his sister-in-law Paulette Gibson.
The family requests that social distancing be observed during visitation and funeral service.
