He is survived by: his wife Tina Marie Brownfield Matthews; his sons, Rodney Carroll Matthews (Terri), Christian Matthews Godwin and Roger Dale Matthews II; his grandchildren, Ronnie Dale Godwin III, Samantha Nicole Matthews, Sara Ashley Matthews and Travis Hunter Matthews; and his siblings, Dorris Matthews (Martha), Felix Matthews (Lola), Brenda Testolin, Deb Smith (Alan) and Judy Matthews.
