John" Meyer has left his beloved Fairhope after almost 14 years. He passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018. He loved the wonderful friends he made and the many kind and caring people of our community. Serving as past president of Baldwin County Master Gardens and the Fairhope Garden Club he loved the joy of gardening and watching things grow. He spent 33 years in education in IL, and after retirement, taught at the University of South Alabama for several years. His doctorate was in social psychology. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine Meyer. He leaves behind his wife Valerie; cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, October 1, 2018, at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, from 2:00 until 4:00p.m. He will be interred in Hillside, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations, if you wish, may be sent to the Haven Animal Shelter or the Fairhope Cat Coalition.
