He was predeceased by: his wife Mattie Johnston. He is survived by: his children, Sam Johnston of Tupelo, MS and Connie Shirley of Fayette; his brother Earl Johnston of Berry; his grandchildren, Emilie Hutcheson (Ryan), Amanda Johnston (Lori), Matt Shirley and Jonathan Shirley; and his great grandchild James Hutcheson.
