She was predeceased by: her son Franklin Daniel Proffitt; her parents, John Franklin Mathis and Myrtle Mae Mathis (Balch); and her siblings, Clarence Mathis, Ermit Mathis, Clifton Mathis, Alton Mathis and Gatha Lowery (Mathis).
She is survived by: her spouse Narvel Proffitt; and her children, Victor Proffitt (Linda) of Fayetteville and Teresa Colvin (Paul) of Hamilton. She is also survived by five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
