He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Jones and Janie Jones; and his sister Loulie English. He is survived by: his wife Nita Jones; his children, Marcia Posey (Chris), Eddie Jones and Janie Walton (Jeff); his grandchildren, Marcus Posey (Elizabeth), Lucas Posey, Nick Walton, Joanna Walton, Sylvia Jones, Kayla Walton and Leon Jones; his great grandchild James Edward Posey; and his brother-in-law Ronnie English.

Memorials may be made to Childhaven Children's Home or Mars Hill Bible School.
