He was predeceased by: his granddaughter Misty Michael; his son-in-law Rickey Michael; his parents, Lucian Tingle and Jeanette Jefferies; and his siblings, Paul "Gene", Bobby, Howard, Jerry, George "Buddy" Tingle, Rebecca Wallace and Patricia McKissack (Joe).
He is survived by: his wife Jewell Tingle; his daughters, Darlene Michael and Jane Stout (Alan); his granddaughter Elizabeth Stout (Ben Turpen); and his sister Peggy Balentine (Rodney). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
