He is survived by: his children, Charles Benson, Jr. (Sebrina), Jeremy Benson (Jenny), Alina McBrayer (Lloyd) and Shawna Dickerson (Chris); his siblings, James Robert Benson (Betty), Jackie Benson (Polly) and Sandra Handschumacher; his grandchildren, Mac Seamons, Chassity Staggs, Raylee Dickerson, Reagan Dickerson and Landyn Benson; his great grandchildren, Austin Seamons, Eli Bracey, Eli Staggs, Mason Staggs, Willa Seamons, MaeLee Staggs, Toni-Nicole Brewer and Diesel Smith; and his pet Rowdy.
