He is survived by: his siblings, Carmel Bates Jr. and Patricia Bates; his wife Jeri Lynn Racz; his son Corey Whitten; and his siblings, Regina Faye Cole (Jeff) and Danny Eugene Bates. He is also survived by Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Family has ask that in lieu of flowers that memorial be made to Spry Williams Funeral Home.
