She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Johnny Vinson; her parents, Albert Marion Thigpen and Cleavie Davis Thigpen; her siblings, Jackie Thigpen, Ralph Thigpen, Betty Grossheim, Juanita Williams and Ruth Morrison; and her son-in-law Carl Simpson.

She is survived by: her children, Greg Vinson (Cathy) and Joan Simpson; her sister Lorean Pettus; and her sister-in-law Lois Thigpen. She is also survived by Grandchildren (9) Great-grandchildren.
