He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Smith and Ada Sue Winsett Smith; his wife Margaret Mitchell Smith; and his stepmother Alline Spence Smith. He is survived by: his children, Joseph Smith (Ruth), John D. Smith, Starla Smith McCranie (Jim) and Nancy Smith McDaniel (Steven); his siblings, Donald Smith, David Smith (Lisa) and Nancy Smith Brown; and his grandchildren, Jessica McDaniel Whited (Keven), Destin McDaniel and Meredith Smith.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Healing Hands International for a water well in memory of Edward and Margaret or to Mars Hill Bible School.
