He was predeceased by: his former wife Bobbi Dicus; his parents, Jessie Putman and Verlie Covington Putman; and his siblings, Nell Holden, Peggy Putman, Doris Myrick, Janie Putman, Dennis Putman and Jesse Putman, Jr..
He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Karen Landry and Alicia Patton; his sisters, Bobbi Wright, Valerie Lee Rideout, Freda Michael, Annette Putman and Cassie Cleveland; and his pets, Holley, Ziggy and His. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
