He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Burns and Clara Burns; his wife Betty Burns; his son David Burns, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Joanie Burns; and his brother Ben Burns.
He is survived by: his daughter Mitzy Neal (Kenny) of Florence; and his grandchildren, Nickie Killian (Stephen), Brandi Foster (John), Ellen Goodman (Greg), Jamie Holbrook (David) and Betsy Berry (Patrick). He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
