He was predeceased by: his parents, Anne Dawson Dorris and James Benjamin Flemming. He is survived by: his wife Dianna Hartselle Flemming; his children, Rebecca Flemming Jacobs (John) and Allison Flemming Leitner (James); his stepsister Debra Dorris Joyner (Bill); his grandchildren, Lillian Hartselle Leitner "Lily" and Benjamin Andrews Leitner; his stepgrandchildren, James Edward Leitner, Jr. and McKenzie John Jacobs "Mack"; his niece Jennifer Lyn Joyner (Joao Fino); his nephew William Randolph Joyner; and his grandchildren, Lily, Ben and Jim.
