He was predeceased by: his parents, Smith Houston Irons, Jr. and Ophelia Austin Irons; his brother David Irons; and his nieces, Lynda Jones Knox and Sherry Irons.
He is survived by: his wife Paulette Turner Irons; his daughter Nikki Irons-Reese (Scott); his siblings, Larry Irons (Peggy) and Martha Irons Jones (Turner); his grandchildren, Wyatt Reese and Maeve Reese; his sister-in-law Sue Irons; and his nephew Charles Irons.
