He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Hines and Lillian Smith Hines; his son Josh Hines; and his brother Henry Hines. He is survived by: his sons, Jimmy Hines and Jeff Hines (Lisa); his grandchildren, Blake, Justin, Rayne, Caleb, Hunter, Alyssa and Mallory; and his siblings, Bobby Hines (Elizabeth), Jerry Hines (Shirley), Glenda Moomaw (Gene) and Debra McMurtrey (Steve). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
