He was predeceased by: his brother Lantham Keith Nix; and his grandparents, Mardie Elbert Fisher, Opal Fisher, Luther and Beatrice Nix.
He is survived by: his son Dustin Colt Smith; and his parents, Leonard Nix and Patricia Nix. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
