She was predeceased by: her husband Leo Samuel Melton; her parents, Cleo Faires and Gertie Faires; her siblings, Granville, Clyde, Freddie, Glen, Eddie Faires, Quava Akins, Rachel Goza, Shelba Faires and Sharon Faires; and her sister-in-law Shella Faires.

She is survived by: her sons, Duane (Kim) of Florence and Richard (Jennifer) of Florence; her great grandchildren, Maddie Kate James, James, Reagan Cooper, Noah and Rylee Melton; her siblings, Jewel Bain (Robert) and Gary Faires (Doris); her siblings-in-law, Sandra, Linda, Jeanette, Ann Faires, Wanda Chandler, Hilda Comer, Andy Akins and Danny Goza; and her daughter-in-law Kim.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hendrix Chapel Building Fund or the Pine Hill Cemetery Fund.
