He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Gooch and Eula Gooch; and his son Norman Anthony Gooch. He is survived by: his wife Jewell Stewart Gooch; his brother Larry Gooch (Patsy); his sons, Randall Gooch (Rhonda) and Sanford Gooch; his grandsons, Shane Parker (Alison), Norman "A. J." and Nathan Gooch; and his great grandchildren, Bella, Alena, Brodie, Caroline, Cecilia and Cathleen.

Memorials donations may be made to the North Alabama Christian children's Home.
