She was predeceased by: her husband R. T. Matthews; her parents, Myrtle Williams Barnett and Wiley Barnett; her children, Randy Terrell Matthews, Mary Lois Pitman and Martha Jo Flippo; and her siblings, James Barnett, Dovie Hines and Ludie Mae Canerday.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Jennifer Fowler Murphy, Mona Lewis (Mark), Belinda Flippo Ferk, Dewayne Flippo, Anthony Flippo and Brannon Matthews. She is also survived by Great-grandchildren (18) Great-great grandchildren.
