He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy L. Perry James; his parent Elias; and his sons, Terry Dewayne James and Dennis Edward James. He is survived by: his brother John Powell; and his children, Rickey, Tim (Lesa), Phillip (Shelaine), Sheila Grimes (Dale) and Donna Phillips (Randy). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
