He was predeceased by: his wife Jewel Fortner; his parents, James Fortner and Wanda Fortner of Beckley, W. V.; and his brother Bill Fortner. He is survived by: his children, Mitzi Underwood (Tony), Deonna Scott (Joel), Michael Fortner (Ceryneh) and Billy Cummings (Marilyn); his grandchildren, Tyler Underwood (Misty), Ethan, Gavin Fortner and Delilah Scott; and his sisters, Barbara Norman, Rose McPeters and Phyllis Fortner.
