He is survived by: his children, Mechelle Thompson (James), Melissa Hynson, Margaret Houston (Cecil) and Jamal Hynson; his grandchildren, Kamina Newsome, Stephen Young, Kenneth Young, Jacoba Thompson, Jedesah Beckwith, Mariah Houston, Analyse Houston and Taylor Hynson; his great grandchildren, Walter Riley and Emerson Ledwell; and his sister Cyndi Hynson.
