He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Nathaniel Heartsill and Callie Mae Bowden Heartsill; his daughter Laura Denise Lowery; and his siblings, Marguerite Heartsill Conway, Mirriam Heartsill McGough and Robert Nathaniel Heartsill, Jr..

He is survived by : his wife Laura Barganier Heartsill; his son Kevin Heartsill (Dawn Whiddon); his siblings, Randall Heartsill (Kathy) and Melba Heartsill Keene; his grandchildren, Chloe Young (Mitch), Sara Langston and Whiddon Heartsill; and his great grandchildren, River Young and Riley Young.
