He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Wright Ethridge and Addie Lee Echols Ethridge; his wife Evelyn Cruze Ethridge; his brother James Merritt Ethridge; and his son-in-law Jerry Whittle.

He is survived by: his daughter Cheryl Whittle; and his grandson Chris Stehle.
