He was predeceased by: his parents, Bruce Sims and Jo Dean Sims; and his brother-in-law Wayne Langdale. He is survived by: his wife Joan Langdale Sims; his children, Todd Sims (Mellissa), Carrie Jo Sims, Alaina Sims, Collin Sims (Brianna), Garrison Mayhall III (Lisa) and Britt Hawks (Scott); his grandchildren, Elle, Lorelei, Eason, Ocean, Avalon, Emmett, Anna, Ashleigh, Raegan, Reese and Katie; his siblings, Jeff Sims (Emily), Greg Sims (Trish) and Sharon Reeves (H. K.); and his siblings-in-law, Terry Langdale (Linda) and Nancy Langdale.

Flowers will be accepted or the family would like donations to be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Foundation in his name.
