It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Abney Johnson (Gadsden, Alabama), who passed away on May 16, 2018, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Ronny Johnson; her parents, Ruby Smith Abney and William McKinley Abney; her sister Sarah Howse (Don); her sister-in-law Nila Abney; her brothers, James Abney and Hoyt Abney; and her brother-in-law Jerry Johnson.
She is survived by: her sons, Greg Johnson (Melanie), Daniel Johnson, Gadsden, Mack Johnson (Lorri) and Harvest; her granddaughter Savannah Johnson; her sister Martha Elrod; and her siblings-in-law, Glenna Abney, Nancy Johnson and Wade Johnson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hope Lodge where she and Ronny stayed during his cancer treatments (1104 Ireland Way, Birmingham, AL 35205) or the Tidmore Bend Volunteer Fire Department (1708 Tidmore Bend Road, Gadsden, 35901) The family would like to extend special thanks to Kindred Hospice nurses Savannah Cole and Joy Souder, Dr. William Harrison and Dr. John Wilborn and staff.
