He was predeceased by: his wife Etta Mae. He is survived by: his son Robert Handy (Jane); and his grandchildren, Shawn Hamby, Shanna Proctor (Gene), Morgane Stansell (Andrew) and Maegan Fisher (Mike).

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Disabled Veterans Association.
