He was predeceased by: his parents, Joanne Horsely Cheatwood and R. V. Cheatwood; his brother Garry Cheatwood; and his parents-in-law, Emma Ruth Gilbert and Ernest Judson Gilbert, II.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Cheatwood; his children, Ben Cheatwood and Allison Richardson (Seth); his granddaughters, Ella Mae and Emma Kennedy Richardson; his sister Anjinetta Barnes (Larry); and his sisters-in-law, Sandi Prater (Weyman), Kay Bice and Nancy Gilbert. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
