He was predeceased by: his parents, Josh Nix and Myrtle Nix; his sisters, Shirley Nix Bryant, Myrtice Nix Stachura and Joyce Nix McNew; his half-siblings, Ray Nix and Mary Nix; and his son Paul Robert Nix.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Bailey Nix of LaGrange; his daughters, Kim Bullard (Mike) of McDonough and Georgia; his grandchildren, Drew Bullard (Morgan), Kyle Bullard (Mallory) and Blake Bullard; his great grandchildren, Oliva Bullard and Rosie Bullard; and his sisters, Mae Aultman and Sue Woodard. He is also survived by three children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
