She was predeceased by: her husband Luther Gilbert; her son Bruce Gilbert; and her siblings, Betty Spicer, Faye Anthony, James, Vann, Otis and Charles Little.

She is survived by: her daughters, Deborah Powell and Tuwona Chambers (Tommy); her grandchildren, Bucky Powers (Katrina), Kimberly Ramsey, Jason Powell (Sherrie), Brandy Staton (Kevin), Ashleigh Shea and Whitney Steapleton; and her brother Troy Bruce (Barbara).
