He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ellis Brown and Patricia Ann Langston Zamich. He is survived by: his girlfriend Cheryl Helms; his sister Veda Battles (Tony); his half-brother James Brown; and his close friends, D. J. Nation, Dustin Fitts and John Kitchens. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to his sister, Veda Battles, to help with expenses.
