He was predeceased by: his parents, Ike Atkins and Iris Atkins; his siblings, Joy Wofford and Jackie Atkins; and his granddaughter Kelly Atkins Young.
He is survived by: his wife Scharlene Atkins; his sons, David Atkins (Kyla) and Dale Atkins (Mandie); his grandchildren, Jonathan Atkins (Caitlin), Amanda Atkins and David Atkins; his great grandchildren, Joshua Young and J. T. Atkins; and his great great grandchild Evelynn Langford. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
