With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Louise Tripp Brakefield of Gadsden, Alabama, born in Shelbyville, Illinois, who passed away on July 7, 2020 at the age of 68. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Hahn Tripp and Stella Tripp Garwood; and her parents-in-law, James Monroe Brakefield, Lillian Hyatt and Verlin Hyatt.
She is survived by: her husband William V. Brakefield Sr.; her children, William Brakefield Jr. (Lisa) and Tina Brakefield Blair (Kevin); her grandchildren, Adrienne Beck Brett Hayes (Luke), Elijah Brakefield, Lance Blair (Ale) and Megan Challenor; her pets, Marley and Baby Girl; her brother Junior Tripp (Marsha); her sister-in-law Violet Tripp; her siblings, Florence Murphy (Jack), Bill Tripp and James Brakefield (Nancy); and her sister-in-law Betty Lee Jones. She is also survived by loving wife of 47 years, and was also a loving mother and grandmother.
