He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Cleveland and Berenice Cleveland. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Cleveland; his children, Gene III Cleveland (Allison), Russell Cleveland (Lynn), Angie Mabrey (Matt) and Vicki Williamson (Ivey); his grandchildren, Justin Cleveland (Cassidy), Ry Cleveland, Cameron Candella (Taylor), Justin Ammerman (Tiffany), Jack Cleveland, Sam Cleveland, Matthew Mabrey (Hannah), Meredith Grace Mabrey, Reeder Williamson and Keller Williamson; his great grandchildren, David Cleveland, Marlin Cleveland, Juniper Cleveland, Daxton Candella, Jude Ammerman and Lyla Cleveland; and his siblings, Kathryn Buchanan and O'Neal Cleveland (Dianne).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bellevue Methodist Church, The Way of the Cross, or the Love Center.
